1 Introduksi
1.1 Latar Belakang
Efek konteks dalam riset konsumen sensori menunjukkan bahwa skor liking untuk produk yang sama dapat berbeda nyata menurut konteks evaluasi: bilik laboratorium yang terkendali, home use test (HUT) yang lebih mendekati situasi nyata, restoran, atau kondisi dengan/tanpa pasangan produk (misalnya wine + keju dibanding wine saja) (Köster, 2003; Meiselman, 2013). Studi klasik Cardello et al. (2000) menemukan skor liking makanan siap saji di Amerika Serikat dapat 30–40% lebih tinggi saat dikonsumsi di rumah dibanding di laboratorium; selisih sebesar ini dapat mengubah keputusan peluncuran produk. Context Analysis mengkuantifikasi efek konteks pada liking melalui ANOVA dua arah Product × Context dengan uji interaksi. Bila interaksi signifikan, peringkat produk berubah antar konteks; implikasinya, uji acceptance perlu direplikasi pada lingkungan target pasar.
1.2 Tujuan
Modul ini menerima data uji konsumen multi-konteks: Consumer × Product × Context × Liking. Analisis utama menjalankan ANOVA dua arah: Product + Context + Product × Context (interaksi), menguji signifikansi interaksi, menampilkan plot interaksi, dan menghitung penurunan rerata antara laboratorium dan situasi nyata. Audiens utamanya adalah peneliti uji konsumen, tim R&D, dan tim pemasaran yang membutuhkan dasar kuantitatif untuk strategi launch.
1.3 Posisi
Gunakan Context Analysis untuk menganalisis efek konteks terhadap skor liking. Untuk banyak produk dalam satu konteks, gunakan Single Factor Rate That Apply. Untuk hedonik multi-atribut, gunakan Quick Sensory Check. Untuk analisis yang digerakkan deskriptor, gunakan JAR + Penalty Analysis. Untuk dinamika flavor temporal, gunakan Temporal Dominance of Sensations.
2 Metode
2.1 Dasar Teoretis
Two-way mixed-model ANOVA for Context Analysis:
$$y_{ijk} = \mu + P_i + C_j + (P \times C)_{ij} + S_k + \varepsilon_{ijk}$$dengan $P_i$ product (fixed), $C_j$ context (fixed), $(P \times C)_{ij}$ interaction (fixed), $S_k$ consumer (random), $\varepsilon$ error.
F-tests:
- Product main effect: $F = \text{MS}_P / \text{MS}_{P \times S}$ — apakah liking berbeda antar produk overall.
- Context main effect: $F = \text{MS}_C / \text{MS}_{C \times S}$ — apakah ada systematic context bias.
- Product × Context interaction: $F = \text{MS}_{P \times C} / \text{MS}_{P \times C \times S}$ — apakah ranking produk berubah dengan konteks.
Interpretasi:
- Interaction signifikan: ranking produk tidak stabil lintas konteks — pengujian harus dilakukan di setiap target context secara terpisah.
- Interaction tidak signifikan: ranking produk konsisten — hasil lab dapat digeneralisasi ke setting lain dengan koreksi mean drop.
- Context main effect only: semua produk naik/turun seragam dengan konteks — systematic bias, bukan crossover.
Mean drop lab vs real-life (Cardello et al., 2000):
$$\Delta_{\text{lab-real}} = \bar{Y}_{\text{lab}} - \bar{Y}_{\text{real}}$$Tipikal negatif (−1 hingga −2 unit) untuk lab vs HUT — implikasi: multiply lab liking by ~1.15 untuk estimate real-life acceptance.
Effect size partial $\eta^2$:
$$\eta^2_{\text{partial}} = \frac{\text{SS}_{P \times C}}{\text{SS}_{P \times C} + \text{SS}_E}$$Cohen (1988): 0.01 small, 0.06 medium, 0.14 large.
